The Rift isn’t just another gravel race — it’s 200km of Iceland’s most jaw-dropping terrain. Riders push through landscapes dominated by the Hekla volcano, cross icy rivers, and battle relentless washboards.
It’s beautiful, yes — but make no mistake, it’s just as brutal.
For me, the race presents a unique challenge: once the riders pass, there’s no catching up until K130. Capturing the event requires strategy and precision, especially in these conditions and as a solo filmmaker.
In the lead-up to the race, two daily reels are delivered to build excitement. On race day, a recap edit is produced just hours after the finish, with a short documentary following soon after — all while navigating Iceland’s wild and unpredictable landscape.
