Gravel Earth 2024 came to an end at The Ranxo.
The day before the race I had slots of 4 minutes with some riders to interview them and try to find a way to end the season with a good recap that explains what makes this series different.
Since I had cycled the entire route a week earlier, I knew it was going to be really hard to follow both the men’s and women’s races by myself. So the interviews would be crucial to create the story.
As I know their stories from all the season, we just chatted, and at some point, I introduced one of the questions I had prepared into the conversation.
Lucky me, from all the questions I had, I asked Peter Stetina and Griffin Easter about the evolution of gravel.
“For a sport that is becoming more and more professional, one should never forget the roots."
Gravel is fun because it is different. This was the ending—I knew it when I got it.
For me, they kind of described the Gravel Earth series as the fresh spark in the scene.
